Marcia Senger-Ross, age 86, entered into her “Journey Home” on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 5:33 A.M., in the Trinity Care Hospice of the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank California surrounded by her loving daughters Melinda and Melissa and loving son-in-law Greg. Marcia was born in Peru on May 1, 1931, the daughter of Fred W Senger, Jr. and Georgia Stoner Senger. She was married to the father of her children, Richard P. Ross from 1953 to 1974. Marcia was a 1949 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the First Christian Church. She and her husband Dick were charter members and founders of Tri Kappa Bridgearama from the 1960’s. In addition to the Tri Kappa Sorority, Marcia was a member of the Miami County Chapter of the Indianapolis Symphony and the Peru Elkettes. Marcia remained very active in the successful operations of her family’s business, Senger Dry Goods during the 1970’s and became the CEO and President upon her father’s death until it’s closing in 1978, which was Peru’s legacy for over 73 years. Marcia’s greatest gift of love in life were her children Melinda Ross and her cousin Kay Sutton of Winter Haven, FL, Melissa Smith and her husband Greg of Burbank, CA, a son Fred Ross and daughter-in-law Carla Ross, Peru, IN; grandchildren Frederick Ross and his wife Jamie Ross and Jeremy Ross; great grandchildren Matthew Ross Alexander Ross, Neil Ross and fiancé Kyrsten and Alivia Ross; her grand puppies Prissy, Kamee, Zoey, Izzy and Mei-Ling. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Fred Ross in 2009, the father of her children Richard Ross in 2017 and her companion of 24 years Sam Feldman. Marcia will always be remembered as a graciously caring humanitarian, showing kindness to her family and friends throughout her community and all persons of every walk of life. She continues to leave her legacy of strength, courage, wisdom and charity with her contagious smile to her precious daughters, who she would say to everyday “I love you so very, very much” The daughters of Marcia wish to thank her beloved caregiver of nearly 2 years, Lorna Mills, who has been a very special daughter for over 50 years. And expressing their heartfelt appreciation to the medical staff along with Dr. Botak Goldman and staff of Trinity Care Hospice of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank, CA for the compassionate care of their loving mother. A service celebrating the life of Marcia Senger-Ross will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Rev. George McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. The family of Marcia requests contributions be made in her memory to the Miami County Museum, The National Heart and Stroke Association and /or your choice of Hospice or Cancer Chapters. Also St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Meals on Wheels, Peru’s Office. The family of Marcia Senger Ross will receive guests at the Miami County Museum from 2:30-4:30 PM, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 for the celebration of Marcia Senger Ross’s life. Her favorite “The Hummingbird Cake” will be served compliments of Ron Short.
