Judith C Thurston

Judith C. Thurston, 79, of Peru passed away at 1:10 AM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Northwood’s Village, Kokomo, IN. Judith was born on April 20, 1938 the daughter of Orville and Lida Jane Clark Helsley. Judith married George J. Thurston on June 28, 1961 in Greentown, IN. Judith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Grissom. Judith was known for her love of children, she enriched the lives of many children that called her “Grandma”. She was the heart of the family and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Surviving in addition to her husband George J. Thurston are her children Steven James Holder and his wife Joyce, St. Mary’s GA, George J. Thurston, III and his wife Marcie, Peru, IN, Catherine Jane Wilburn and her husband Henry, Peru, IN, Deleda Joy Holder, Peru, IN; grandchildren Shane Church, Chris Holder, Kyle Holder, Brandon Laferney, Kayla Galbraith, Tabitha Thurston, Mistie Ehl, Eric Thurston and Travis Wade Holder and Dakota Jesse Wright ; great grandchildren Kierstin Lynn Church, Sierra Galbraith, Gage Church, Rachel Holder and Chelsea Galbraith, Lucien Laferney, Aubrie Galbraith, Abbie Manriquez, Jacob Manriquez, Issac Rapert, Hope Ehl, Lilly Pearson , Adrianne Ehl, Chloe Galbraith, Annabelle Laferney, Nolan Galbraith, Ellie Holder, Emma Roberts, Dustin Roberts Mckynlee Wright and Gideon Laferney; a great-great grandson Myles Joseph Williams and a sister Mary Roark of Kokomo, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Steve Helsley, a sister in law Diane Helsley and a brother-in-law Thomas Roark. A service celebrating the life of Judith C. Thurston will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with the Rev. George Faull and Rev. Terry Carter officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made through the funeral home to the Church of Christ at Grissom.
