Janet Sue (Ward) Gamester, 67, of Peru passed away at 3:05 PM, Wednesday, June 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis following complications from cancer. Janet was born in Peru on December 4, 1949, the daughter of Ralph and June Fenimore Ward. Janet was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren. She and her husband Gary owned and operated Gamester’s Green Gable Village in Peru. Janet enjoyed travelling all over the country with the family auto racing team, visiting warmer climates, and doting over her grandchildren at their sporting and musical competitions. She was an amazing caregiver and will be sweetly remembered for her unending love of her family and friends. Married to her devoted husband Gary Gamester, on July 10, 1981, she is also survived by her children George & Tammy Gamester, Russell & Shannon (Fitzpatrick) Gamester, Jennifer (Bunnell) & David Casper, Holly (Gamester) & Chris Zorn, Jessica (Bunnell) & Henry Trevino; her grandchildren Anthony, James, Justin, Sean, Savannah, Mallory, Zach, Brayden, Shae and Alec; great-grandchild Tristin; brother James & Brenda Ward; niece Robin and nephew Nathan. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN where visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, June 11, 2017. A service celebrating the life of Janet Gamester will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Peru Church of the Brethren, 134 E. 5th Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Peru Church of the Brethren.
