Allie Clymer, 92, of Peru passed away at 2:25 AM, Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru. She was born in Wadesville, IN on January 28, 1925, the daughter of Loren and Lucy Holland Engelbright. Allie married Ralph Clymer in New Harmony, IN on April 4, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2010. Allie graduated from Purdue University in 1945 where she was a Phi Beta Kappa and taught in numerous Indiana School Systems for more than 35 years retiring as a Home Economics Teacher at the Peru Junior High in 1985. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and the Round Robin Bridge Club. Surviving are her daughters Janet Lee Clymer of Minneapolis, MN and Debbie Clymer of Sequim, WA; a son Daniel D. Clymer of Peru, IN; grandchildren Kyle Parish and Katie Parish , a brother Loren D. Engelbright of Coral Gables, FL and a sister Sue Price of Evansville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph and a sister-in-law Milly McGuire. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Allie Clymer will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday May 24, 2017 at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 81 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Lauren Hall officiating. The Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donation be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
